Living on tick : tales from a Huddersfield corner shop between the Wars

Wheeler, Hazel2006
Large Print
The corner shop in the 1920s and 1930s was much more than just a place to buy the groceries. It was a meeting place where familiar faces, on both sides of the counter, swapped stories and helped each other out. Hazel Wheeler grew up in her father's shop in Deighton near Huddersfield and recalls her memories of those times.
