In 2015, the National Theatre of Scotland invited the people of two Scottish towns to join them on a theatrical adventure called To Begin... The project was inspired by Scottish Book Trust's Journeys campaign, which asked people across Scotland to share short stories about journeys that meant the most to them, whether physical or emotional, happy or sad, everyday or once-in-a-lifetime. To Begin.. would take some of these stories on a journey one step further, from the page to the stage. Working alongside professional creative and production teams from the National Theatre of Scotland. the people of Forres in Moray and Wigtown in Dumfries and Galloway created two new pieces of theatre, interweaving some incredible true tales of love, inspiration, triumph and disaster.
