Among the British troops bound for the Black Sea in May 1854 was a young officer in the 5th Dragoon Guards named Richard Temple Godman, and throughout the entire Crimea campaign he sent many detailed letters to his family in Park Hatch, Surrey. This volume collects these letters, providing a graphic account of the bloody campaign.
